The exhibition “Volodymyr Patyk. Painting as Life” is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most prominent Ukrainian painters of the second half of the 20th century.
Almost 300 works by Volodymyr Patyk from museum, family and private collections have been selected for the exhibition. A significant part of these works has not been exhibited before.
The exhibition traces the artist’s creative path from his early searches to his mature period and shows how his recognizable artistic language was formed. An important component of it was color – one of the main means of constructing an image and expressing the author’s vision.
The exhibition is complemented by archival materials and memories, which allow us to turn not only to the artist’s work, but also to the context of his life and professional activities.
The works were provided by: Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine, Lviv National Gallery of Arts named after B. G. Voznytskyi, Volodymyr Patyk Museum (KZ LOR Historical and Local Lore Museum of Vynnyky), Mykhailo Hrushevsky State Memorial Museum, National Art Museum of Ukraine, Lviv National Literary and Memorial Museum of Ivan Franko.
