The Center for Urban History is an independent research institution that has been working for over 20 years in the following areas: urban history research, digital humanities and archiving, and public history. Our goal is to promote international collaboration in research, explore the possibilities of digital technologies in the humanities, and rethink the role of history in modern society.
The Center’s activities have the following objectives: to research the history of cities in Central and Eastern Europe; to promote urban history in an interdisciplinary format; to develop international academic and cultural exchanges; to deepen knowledge and understanding of the complexity and diversity of history and heritage in cities in Central and Eastern Europe; to strengthen cooperation between local and international institutions.
