The exhibition “With Stroke and Spirit” by the eminent Lviv artist, academician, and Shevchenko National Prize laureate Liubomyr Medvid presents a unique cross-section of his oeuvre from the 1960s to the present day.
The exposition unites two extraordinary facets of the author’s work: on the one hand – a free journey into the subconscious through graphic drawings filled with spontaneous philosophical impromptus, metaphors, and subtle “black humour”, and on the other – majestic sacred art in the form of fresco fragments and icons for the church in Sukhovolia and the future iconostasis for the Lviv church of the Orionine Fathers, which was designed by the world-renowned Italian architect Mario Botta.
