On July 24, the Andrey Sheptytskyi National Museum in Lviv will open an anniversary exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of one of the most prominent Ukrainian artists of the 20th century.
The exhibition is based on works from the NML collection: paintings and graphics, iconic works from different years.
An artist whom everyone knows. And at the same time, almost no one knows.
He was born in a village, but became the singer of the city. He studied as a painter, and gained world recognition as a graphic artist. He did not teach, but he raised a generation of artists.
Who was Leopold Levytskyi? Why did he attract people? And why does his work still sound so modern? The exhibition “Leopold the Attractive” reveals not only the versatility of the artist’s creative heritage, but also invites you to look into the world of his images — the City, Man and everyday Life.
