The artist’s engagement with iconography began in the late 1980s. From his first religious images, work on church murals, and sacred motifs in graphic art and painting, this path gradually led him to the icon, which eventually became the central focus of his creative life.
For more than twenty years, Ihor Zilinko has worked exclusively in the field of icon painting. The works presented in this exhibition belong to this period and testify to the artist’s long creative journey — a journey on which he found his icon.
