The exhibition highlights the artist’s oeuvre as a painter with a unique folk worldview, as a master of genre paintings of folk life and picturesque landscapes of his native land.
Fotiy Krasytsky is also presented as a talented creator of portraits of outstanding figures of Ukrainian culture, as well as a graphic artist, and as an educator and author of drawing tutorials. More than forty paintings and graphics by Fotiy Krasytsky are on display.
They were created in the 1890s–1910s. The main exhibit is the historical and everyday life painting “Guest from Zaporizhzhia, the most famous in the artist’s legacy. The presented works reveal the searches and achievements of Fotiy Krasytsky, which place him among the ranks of the most outstanding Ukrainian artists.
