This year marks the centenary of the birth of Borys Voznytskyi (16.04.1926 – 23.05.2012) – an eminent museum professional, art historian, Honoured Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine, and long-standing director of the Lviv National Art Gallery, which now bears his name.
Memory preserves the past within the present, while time compels us to reflect upon and comprehend the vast scale of Borys Voznytskyi’s achievements: museum-building, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the rescue of artistic monuments.
