This series is a reflection on time, memory, and creativity as an enduring testament to one’s own existence. Through rigorous geometry, the rhythmic alternation of colours, and the structuring of space, the artist creates a visual archive of presence, in which each individual element becomes a mark on the wall – a record of another day lived.
Bohdana Tatarenko describes the series in her own words: “As I meditatively fill the strips with colour, I ritually mark my own presence. Or, by leaving spaces empty, I choose to leave certain things unsaid.
The first step gives rise to countless accidents, and every action that follows becomes an attempt to bring them into order.” In her works, colour and form carry distinct meanings. They speak: “I was, I am, I will be, for as long as this continues.”
The artist elaborates: “In this way, I can create an archive of presence across the plane of time. In this way, I can tell myself: ‘As long as I paint, I am an artist.’ The regularity of this process becomes a form of quiet resistance to disappearance.”
Bohdana Tatarenko’s works offer a compelling visual translation of this manifesto. As we contemplate the series, we encounter a clear dialogue between the chaos of existence and the order imposed through artistic gesture. We invite you to enter and share this space of reflection, form, and colour at Homin Center.
